Thanks to a huge opening weekend, the latest edition of the Spiderman series has attained the superhit status at the Indian box-office. It must be noted that this film released in India, a week earlier than the US.Though the weekdays saw progressive drops in collections, the strength of the opening weekend has made sure that the movie is a profitable venture for all the Indian exhibitors and distributors. The word of mouth for the movie is mixed and the movie will fall short of other Hollywood blockbusters in India such as 2012 and Avatar. The overall collections would just about touch the 50 crores net mark which is a far cry from what was expected at the end of the first weekend.
